Tottenham are reportedly close to securing a deal for Leeds United attacker Jack Clarke.
According to the Express, Spurs are near to landing the teenager for £15million after a long pursuit of him.
It is understood that the North London club are on the verge of a deal and he could be sent straight back to Elland Road on loan as part of the agreement.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side haven’t signed a single player in the last two transfer windows, so it looks like they will at least end that duck.
Clarke is an exciting prospect that broke into the Leeds first team last season in the Championship and made 25 appearances across all competitions.
The 18-year-old is a skilful winger with great pace and trickery, but he’s still right at the beginning of his senior path.
Clarke certainly fits the bill of a Spurs signing and £15million could turn out to be a bargain depending on his development.
It would be a smart decision to loan him out next year, as he should be a regular starter for Leeds and be a part of a team chasing promotion.
Spurs can be pleased if a deal for the Leeds wide man is concluded, but at the same time they need signings too that can make an immediate impact in their squad.
They need to build on reaching a Champions League final last season and add more depth to the group.
