Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs keen on signing Hugo Ekitike, with RMC Sport reporting that Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund also want the 19-year-old.
Ekitike has made a brilliant start to life in Ligue 1. He has scored eight goals in 17 appearances this season. Only six players have scored more goals in the French top-flight so far.

According to FB Ref, none of those six players have put a greater percentage of their shots on target. And only one player in the entire division is doing a better job of outperforming their expected goals.
Fabrizio Romano reported that Newcastle had had an initial bid for Ekitike rejected. He also suggested that West Ham were also keen on the teenager.

RMC Sport also reports that both clubs want Ekitike. But they also suggest that Tottenham are in the race. And Borussia Dortmund are also admirers.
They claim that no bid has been made. But they do outline what Stade Reims want for the forward.
According to RMC Sport, any club would need to pay £25 million up front. They also want £8.3 million in bonuses, while also keeping Ekitike on loan for the rest of the season.
They would also like 25 percent of a future fee. So it would certainly be a major outlay for any of his admirers.
Tottenham unlikely to meet Ekitike demands with striker needed for second-half of the season
There will be some Tottenham fans who want Ekitike signed. He looks to have a fantastic future ahead. However, it is hard to see Antonio Conte’s men signing a striker in this window who will spend the rest of the campaign elsewhere.
Spurs need to improve their options in a number of areas. So spending £25 million of their budget on a player they will then loan out would not go down well with some supporters.
It will be interesting to see whether Tottenham decide that meeting Stade Reims’ demands for Ekitike this month is worthwhile based on the prospect that they would be getting.
