Tottenham Hotspur must pay the release clause in the Atletico Madrid contract of Yannick Carrasco to land him this summer.
Spurs have been linked with a swoop for the 28-year-old Belgian international before the transfer deadline which falls on Thursday night.
A report by Spanish outlet Marca claims that Atletico Madrid will not negotiate over Carrasco and they are not anticipating much movement before the deadline.
They will do business with Tottenham over the signing of left-back Sergio Reguilon on loan but are not willing to barter over Carrasco.

Tottenham need to pay Carrasco release clause
The report says that Carrasco has a release clause of 60 million euros (£51.1 million) in his Atletico Madrid contract.
That would probably not be completely beyond Spurs, but it would also be the third highest transfer fee they have paid in their history, as per Transfermarkt.
That would be a lot for a 28-year-old, although Antonio Conte is all about winning now and getting experience through the door.
Tottenham could perhaps do with one more new face through the door before the deadline, and it remains to be seen how hard they will push for Carrasco.
At this stage of the window, there is not much wiggle room and it seems like Atletico Madrid are not going to come to the table here.
Next up for Spurs is a clash with their bitter rivals West Ham United at the London Stadium, as they look to preserve their unbeaten league record so far this term.
