A move to Tottenham Hotspur is a credible option for Lucas Paqueta this summer, with the midfielder not particularly interested in joining Arsenal, according to a report from L’Equipe (via GFFN).

Paqueta has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer. Reports suggested that it is Arsenal who are most keen on signing Paqueta.

Edu has since admitted that he is a big fan of the 24-year-old. But he insisted that there are no talks underway with Lyon.

Reports have claimed that Les Gones want £55 million for the Brazilian. However, it appears unlikely that he will end up at the Emirates – judging by the latest reports on the midfielder.

According to L’Equipe, Paqueta is not particularly keen on joining Arsenal or Newcastle. Meanwhile, Tottenham and Manchester City are seen as the most credible options for him.

Spurs made a bid of over £33.6 million for Paqueta in January. So perhaps it is possible that Antonio Conte’s men will return to the negotiating table in this window.

Tottenham move a credible option for Paqueta

You can understand why Paqueta may prefer to join Tottenham or Manchester City over Arsenal or Newcastle. Spurs and Pep Guardiola’s men can offer Champions League football.

It is a blow for Arsenal. He would be a hugely exciting signing for Mikel Arteta’s men. His form was labelled ‘extraordinary‘ last season.

And obviously, it would be particularly difficult to stomach if he ended up at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs have had a brilliant window. And signing Paqueta would be another massive statement of intent.
