Tottenham Hotspur are actively monitoring the situation involving Troy Deeney at Watford, believing the veteran could be a potential transfer option to help their current striker situation.
That is according to a report from Sky Sports, who suggest the North London club are ‘monitoring the situation’, with Deeney also being linked with a move to West Brom as he considers his future at Vicarage Road.
Deeney, who scored 10 goals in the Premier League last season as Watford were relegated to the Championship, has scored a combined 47 goals in five Premier League campaigns and the 32-year-old would bring undoubted experience to the club if he made the move.

A video package from Sky Sports explaining the interest made it clear that Deeney would only be likely to leave Watford toward the end of the transfer window, as he weighs up his future with the now Championship club.
The Telegraph recently suggested that Watford could consider loaning their club captain to a Premier League club next season, with the Hornets already signing Glenn Murray as a replacement.
So it seems this could be a potential deal for Tottenham. However, reading between the lines, it looks more likely to be a move they make when other avenues have been exhausted in the hunt for another striker.
