Tottenham Hotspur are one of the teams to have an eye on Matthias Ginter as the defender prepares to move on a free transfer this summer, according to Sky Sports.
Spurs are in the market for a centre-back at the end of the season. Ben Davies has done well alongside Eric Dier and Cristian Romero. But it would appear that Antonio Conte will hope to take his options to the next level.

Fabrizio Romano has previously claimed that Tottenham will definitely sign a new centre-back. And they have been linked with a host of left-sided options.
But perhaps they may have their eye on strengthening the depth on the other side also.

Sky Sports reports that Aston Villa want Ginter, who is out of contract in the coming months. But there are several others keen in the Borussia Monchengladbach star, including Tottenham. Juventus and West Ham are also interested.
Ginter is planning to delay a decision on his future until he has considered all of the options. It is not clear at this stage whether Spurs are planning to make an offer.
Matthias Ginter not a priority for Tottenham, but could be a smart signing
Tottenham have a few areas that require improvement this summer. And thus, Ginter is probably not someone Spurs need to prioritise. But clearly, it has the potential to be a smart signing.
He is available on a free transfer. At 28, he should be at his peak. And he is someone with 46 caps for Germany and almost 300 Bundesliga appearances under his belt.
Lothar Mattheus labelled him a ‘leader‘. And he claimed that he reminds him of Sergio Ramos. So it could be another shrewd piece of business if Tottenham signed Ginter this summer.
