Football London have reported that Tottenham Hotspur youngster Luke Amos is to leave Spurs this summer and join London neighbours Queens Park Rangers on a season-long loan.

Amos, 22, made his debut for Spurs last season in the first game of the 2018-19 campaign. He came on for the remaining two minutes of Spurs’ 2-1 win over Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.

The England youth international captained Spurs’ second string in a number of Premier League 2 outings for the Under-23 side, but his momentum came crashing to a halt – when he snapped his anterior cruciate ligament.

He has now recovered but instead of bringing him back into the first-team fold, Mauricio Pochettino has opted to send him out on loan. QPR have opted to bring the midfielder in, along with Manchester City’s Matt Smith.

With two years left on Amos’ contract at Spurs, he will be hoping to show that he has what it takes to break back into the senior side in 2020-21. To do that, he must shine in the blue and white of QPR.

TBR’s view – Amos has one more Tottenham chance

Amos is undoubtedly a players with plenty of potential, but he is already 22 years of age and a loan to QPR could be the midfielder’s last chance of earning a place in Pochettino’s side.

Anything less than a spectacular loan is likely to see the midfielder leave the club, perhaps next summer when he enters the final year of his Spurs contract. The reported loan to QPR is crucial for Amos.
