Report: Tottenham make offer for Rennes striker Martin Terrier
Tottenham want Martin Terrier, with Foot Mercato reporting that Spurs have already decided to make an offer for the 25-year-old striker ahead of the summer.
Spurs look set to book their spot in next season’s Champions League. Antonio Conte’s men sit fourth in the Premier League. And they only require a point on the final day to hold off Arsenal.
Of course, finishing fourth will likely see Tottenham shop in a different section of the market this summer. And there will be some exciting moves made.
One area they may well strengthen is up front. Finding an understudy for Harry Kane has been a challenge for a number of years, with Fernando Llorente arguably proving to be the most successful addition.
Dane Scarlett could be loaned out next year. And with that, Tottenham are looking to strengthen from elsewhere as they look for more fire-power.
And the name on their list is Terrier. The Frenchman has scored 21 goals in Ligue 1 this season. Only two players have more. Meanwhile, he has provided seven assists in all competitions for Rennes.
He actually did not get the chance to face Spurs in the Europa Conference League this season. Terrier was not in the squad for the meeting in France. And of course, the reverse fixture did not actually take place.
Foot Mercato reports that Tottenham want Terrier. And they have already made an offer for the former France under-21 forward.
Tottenham make offer for Martin Terrier
Terrier is not yet a household name across Europe. But he has been backed for a France call-up by Thierry Henry, with the Premier League legend insisting that he really likes the player.
And he can play in a number of positions. He has thrived on the left of the front three this year, but he is also capable of playing in the middle.
It would certainly seem that Spurs want him in their ranks next season, with an offer already in.
