Tottenham Hotspur have held talks over the signing of Dusan Vlahovic, the Times suggest.
Tottenham are said to be determined to keep hold of Harry Kane by the Times, but the truth is that thy must plan for a long-term successor to their star man.
And it may be that having Vlahovic in place is a plan for the worst case scenario.
At 21, Vlahovic still has plenty of room to develop, but the Fiorentina striker showed last season that he knows his way to goal.
Vlahovic bagged 21 goals in 37 games in Serie A, making him one of the hottest strikers in the league – and actually outscored Heung-Min Son, who mustered up 17 strikes in the league.
His form seems to have caught the eye of Spurs, who are now said to have made their move for the finisher.
An expensive purchase?
The difficulty for Spurs surely comes due to Vlahovic’s £51 million price-tag (CalcioMercato), which could put him out of their budget.

Tottenham would surely ideally like Vlahovic to spend at least a season learning from Kane, before potentially replacing him at some stage in the future – if he is forced to leave.
But his arrival could also immediately make Tottenham a bigger attacking threat.
And the latest claims that Spurs have now entered talks to land the front man must be highly encouraging for Lilywhites supporters.
