Report: Tottenham made Nicolo Zaniolo approach; loan possible
Tottenham Hotspur have made an approach for Nicolo Zaniolo and have been informed that a loan deal is possible if they agree to an obligation to buy the attacking midfielder, according to a report from Italian outlet Il Messaggero.
Zaniolo is attracting attention after a superb year with Roma. The 22-year-old scored eight goals and contributed nine assists in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s men.
He is no stranger to Antonio Conte’s radar. Previous reports claimed that the Italian dreamed of signing the youngster. Conte is hoping to have Zaniolo working with Harry Kane.
Reports this week claimed that Tottenham opened talks with Roma over Zaniolo. And it seems that there has been progress in those discussions.
Il Messaggero reports that Spurs have now made an approach for the Italy international. And they have been told that Roma will accept a loan deal, as long as it comes with an obligation to buy.
The fee would be between £34.5 million and £38.8 million.
Tottenham made Zaniolo approach
It would be no surprise if a loan deal very much appealed to Tottenham. Fabio Paratici has used the loan market superbly since moving to North London.
The deal for Cristian Romero looks absolutely inspired, and there is similar excitement about the move for Dejan Kulusevski.
He has the potential to be an ‘incredible‘ talent. Unfortunately, injuries have really hurt him in the early stages of his career.
Most of those problems appear to be behind him now. So there is a real opportunity to sign a fantastic player.
A loan deal would allow Tottenham to spend more this summer. So it will be very interesting to see if Roma’s demands appeal to Spurs.
