Tottenham are reportedly considering a move to try sign centre-forward Bas Dost from German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.

According to the Daily Mail, Spurs are lining up a bid for the 31-year-old Dutchman and they want to bring in someone to provide cover for their talisman Harry Kane in attack.

It is understood that Franfkurt paid £6.5million 12 months ago to sign him and now value him at £5.5million.

The report states that the North London club attempted to sign him two years ago and current boss Jose Mourinho is now looking at a deal for him.

Dost is an experienced attacker that is a clinical finisher around the box and previously scored 93 goals in just 127 appearances for Sporting CP.

He managed 10 goals in 32 appearances last season for Frankfurt, plus he’s recently started the new campaign with a goal and assist in the opening win over 1860 Munich in the cup

TBR’s View:

The mood around Spurs must be a bit bleak after a disappointing performance in the opening day defeat to Everton in the Premier League, but the signing of a new striker is exactly what the club need to lift spirits.

Mourinho has publicly acknowledged that his squad needs another forward and reports now suggest they could try bring in Dost.

Dost, 31, is a proven forward that would be the perfect understudy for Kane to lead the line with his strength and movement, plus his £5.5million valuation looks a great bargain.
