Tottneham Hotspur are reportedly now leading the chase for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale.
According to ESPN, the north Londoners have moved ahead of Premier League rivals Manchester United for the Wales international.
The Red Devils are supposedly ready to play a waiting game over their main target Jadon Sancho, understood to be valued at £108 million by Borussia Dortmund (The Times), and that has allowed Spurs the advantage.

Apparently, Bale is aware of United’s interest in him, but knows Sancho is their priority.
He is therefore prepared to re-sign for Tottenham, rather than wait to risk another move falling through.
It is thought any deal for Bale would be a loan, with Real Madrid covering half of his weekly wages.
The 30-year-old is rarely used by Zinedine Zidane these days, and stories about the player’s future are arely out of the papers.
TBR’s View – Bale can lift Tottenham dressing room
The development is a boost for Tottenham, who really need to get themselves back on track after their awful display against Everton.

Re-signing Bale would be a huge deal – although he’s had his injury problems, one gets the feeling the superstar is raring to play regularly again.
The impact he could have on the dressing room at Spurs could be massive.
For the current crop, seeing a superstar like Bale in the squad is likely to lift spirits and raise confidence.
