Report: Tottenham interested in signing Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan
French outlet Le 10 Sport have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur and Jose Mourinho are desperate to sign Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan this summer, who has impressed in the Champions League this season.
Maignan, 24, joined Lille in the summer of 2015 from French giants Paris Saint-Germain and after breaking into the senior side, he has since clocked up 132 senior outings for the Ligue 1 outfit – keeping an impressive 42 clean sheets.
This season, Maignan even captained Lille in the Champions League for one of their six group matches. Although they only secured one point from a possible 18, Maignan was impressive between the sticks.
The report claims Mourinho is desperate to raid Lille once again this summer, after bringing the majority of his coaching staff to north London from the French side. However, it is believed that Mourinho is against having both Maignan and Hugo Lloris.
Indeed, Mourinho is desperate to orchestrate a deal for Maignan and sell Spurs skipper Lloris in the coming months – with many supporters becoming frustrated with France captain Lloris for a number of ever-increasing mistakes.

TBR’s view – Maignan in, Lloris out, is stunning Tottenham business
Maignan is one of the best up-and-coming goalkeepers in European football at the moment, and landing the Frenchman would be a stunning signing – especially if he does indeed end up as a replacement for Lloris.
That is because Lloris is 33 years of age, the best part of a decade older than Maignan. Signing a goalkeeper who is already showing the talent and potential to exceed Lloris, at the age of 24, would be excellent work by Tottenham’s transfer team.
