Tottenham are reportedly one of four clubs that are interested in attacker Jeremie Boga from Italian top-flight club Sassuolo.

According to Calciomercato, Spurs are joined by Valencia and Borussia Dortmund in wanting to sign the 22-year-old.

The report also names his former club Chelsea as a potential suitor for his signature, despite the fact they sold him to Sassuolo back in 2018.

After a spate of quite loan spells away from Stamford Bridge as a younger, the London club decided to offload him on a permanent basis and he made the move to Italy to try pursue a senior career.

The Ivory Coast international is now firmly enjoying a real breakout season at first-team level and is finally living up to the potential.

Boga is an explosive wide player that has been tormenting defences in Serie A with his pace, power and direct dribbling towards goals.

The left-winger has scored eight goals and supplied four assists across all competitions so far this campaign in 25 matches.

He’s in a purple patch of form right now, with four goals coming his last six league appearances.

TBR’s View:

Boga is still a rising talent that appears to have a big future ahead of him and some of the individual skill he’s shown this season in Italy has been impressive.

But Spurs already have an entire host of options in wide positions within their squad with the likes of Lucas Moura, Heung-Min Son, Steven Bergwijn and Erik Lamela.

Jose Mourinho’s side seriously need to focus on improving their defensive options going into next season, as well as finding another alternative as a central striker.
