According to a report from Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Everton Soares – who was on Arsenal’s radar during the summer.
Spurs chief scout Steve Hitchen appears to be keeping an eye out for potential targets for Mauricio Pochettino’s squad. Tottenham have made a poor start to the season, and the fans would be forgiven for wanting an overhaul of the squad.

Sky Sports reports that the Gremio forward was watched on Hitchen’s recent trip to South America. He is enjoying a superb season, with eight goals and four assists in the top flight. His record is all the more impressive given that he has started just 13 games in the league.
The report notes that Everton – who won the golden boot at this summer’s Copa America – was a target for the Gunners during the most recent window.

Could North London rivals battle over Everton?
Given Everton’s form and his versatility, it may not be a surprise to see the interest in him intensify before the January window arrives.
Arsenal have plenty of attacking options. But perhaps reports of Tottenham’s interest in the 23-year-old may encourage Unai Emery’s men to consider a fresh move.
Spurs showed how lethal they can be on Tuesday. Mauricio Pochettino’s men thrashed Red Star Belgrade 5-0 in the Champions League.
But it does appear that Tottenham need to improve their ranks. They do seem to have bigger problems to address. But bringing a player of Everton’s calibre into the club could be a real statement from Spurs. And it may prove particularly frustrating for their North London rivals.
