Tottenham Hotspur are amongst the raft of Premier League sides interested in signing Patrik Schick as he continues to enjoy an outstanding season in the Bundesliga, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

Schick has been lethal for Bayer Leverkusen. He sits between Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland in the Bundesliga scoring charts, with 20 goals in 20 games.

The highlight came when he bagged four in a 7-1 win over Greuther Furth. Unsurprisingly, Leverkusen are desperate to keep the Czech Republic international beyond the summer.

But there are a raft of Premier League sides chasing his signature. The Daily Mail reports that Tottenham are fighting the likes of Manchester City and Everton for Schick.

Meanwhile, previous reports claimed Arsenal want the 26-year-old. And he is set to cost more than £50 million.

Has Tottenham target Schick found another level this season?

The concern for Tottenham is that Schick has not come close to this kind of goal return before. In fact, before this season, his best tally in all competitions was 13.

Amid talk of a £50 million, Spurs have to be wary that this campaign may be an anomaly for Schick.

Having said that, he also went into the season having enjoyed an amazing campaign at Euro 2020. He finished the tournament as the joint top-goalscorer.

Julian Nagelsmann previously labelled him an ‘absolute dream‘. And Antonio Conte may appreciate the fact that Schick can play in a number of roles across the forward line.

Tottenham will hope that they do not need to replace Harry Kane this summer. But obviously, him staying makes signing a new striker more difficult.

Schick may not too keen on the idea of being second-choice. So that may not help Spurs’ cause.
