Celta Vigo winger Brais Mendez is an option for Tottenham Hotspur.
According to 90min, Tottenham have drawn up a four-man shortlist to replace Christian Eriksen. With the Danish midfielder’s exit looking inevitable, Tottenham are planning for the future.
Four attacking midfield playmakers from across Europe are on Tottenham’s wishlist, including Mendez. Hakim Ziyech is reportedly the top choice with Bruno Fernandes and Lorenzo Pellegrini also emerging as targets.
Mendez: 2019/20 struggles

Mendez is one of the four players Tottenham could bring in to fill the void left by Eriksen. But the left-footed winger has not scored a goal or registered an assist all season.
The 22-year-old has played 13 games this season – all in the league – but has not directly contributed to a goal. In total, he has scored seven and provided eight assists in 68 matches for Celta Vigo.
Mendez came through the ranks at Celta Vigo but is now being linked with a move to the Premier League. The once-capped Spaniard would be tasked with getting Spurs back up the league table.
TBR’s view
Mendez is clearly a promising talent, having played well over 50 times for Celta Vigo’s first-team at a young age. He has also played (and scored) for Spain despite playing in a position with a lot of competition.
But is he the immediate fix that Tottenham need to lift them out of their slump? Ziyech might be the best option on their wishlist.
