Tottenham are pressing ahead with their bid to sign Swansea defender Joe Rodon and hope to enlist the help of Gareth Bale and Ben Davies in helping the 22-year-old make his mind up.
The Wales defender is a wanted man before the EFL deadline this week after some fine performances for Swansea over the last couple of seasons.

Spurs, then, have emerged as key contenders to sign Rodon, who is also said to be interesting Leicester City.
However, Jose Mourinho’s men could have the advantage when it comes to landing Rodon, with the Sun claiming that Spurs hope the influence of fellow Welsh internationals Gareth Bale and Ben Davies can convince the Swans star to move to north London.
Both players will know Rodon from their time spent together with Ryan Giggs’ international outfit and will be looking to get in the ear of Rodon about just how good things are at Tottenham.

They’d not be wrong on that front, either. Spurs have started the season very well and went into the international break off the back of a 6-1 win at Manchester United

And anyone who thinks this sort of talk and chat away from the pitch doesn’t go off, is wrong.
Players speak to each other about moves and different clubs and it can sometimes be a big weight in the decision a footballer makes on his future.
If Rodon knows Bale and Davies love it at Tottenham, then surely he’ll be more inclined to join? This deal will probably end up getting done and you can bet that the Spurs duo will have had their say with Rodon.
