Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made contact with the representatives of Juventus defender Merih Demiral over a potential transfer.
According to Bleacher Report, an exit for Demiral is likely to happen next month after barely featuring for the Italian champions following his summer move to Turin.
He’s played just one Serie A match so far, with manager Maurizio Sarri set on using Matthijs de Ligt and Leonardo Bonucci together.
Apparently Spurs are waiting in the wings over a potential deal, as are fellow Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester United.
It was reported recently by Calciomercato that Juve would be willing to sell the 21-year-old for around £34 million.
TBR’s view – Demiral would be an amazing signing
Spurs fans should welcome any approach by their club over Demiral, with the Turkey international a highly promising centre-half.
The talented former Sassuolo youngster has seemingly fallen victim to Sarri’s stubborn ways.
To have played just one game so far, especially with Giorgio Chiellini out injured long-term, is highly disappointing for the 6ft 3in rock.
With Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen set to leave Spurs on free transfers next summer as things currently stand, the aggressive yet cultured Demiral would be a wonderful long-term acquisition.
