Tottenham are reportedly eyeing Southampton striker Danny Ings during this current January transfer window.
According to the Daily Star, Spurs are plotting a potential swoop for the 27-year-old and need to find a way to cope without their injured star Harry Kane until April.
It is understood that Ings is the latest name to be added to the radar of Jose Mourinho’s team, who have already approached Lyon’s Moussa Dembele and AC Milan’s Krzysztof Piatek.
Ings is a Premier League target that has now come into the thinking and the North London club desperately need someone that can hit the ground running quickly.
The in-form Englishman has scored 15 goals in just 23 games across all competitions this campaign and is looking the real business leading the St Mary’s frontline.
Spurs have seen first-hand his quality this season, as he’s scored both home and away against them while tormenting the defence.

TBR’s View:
Ings has rediscovered his top form this campaign at Southampton and found an extra yard of pace, which has helped him score goals for fun of late.
There are many suggesting he gets his first England call-up since 2015 and it’s no surprise that there is interest in him in January.
Spurs may find it a much safer bet by investing in a proven Premier League player to cover the Kane void, but whether they can pull off a deal remains to be seen.
Ings could walk straight into Mourinho’s team right now, but long-term knows that he would play second fiddle to Kane and it depends on whether he would be prepared to take that on.
