Report: Tottenham eye bargain move for Watford midfielder Will Hughes for £13m
Tottenham are looking at signing Watford midfielder, Will Hughes, as Jose Mourinho continues to look at strengthening his squad ahead of the Premier League openers next weekend.
According to the Daily Mail, Spurs are keen on landing Hughes, with Jose Mourinho apparently a big fan of the former England under-21 star.
It is believed that Daniel Levy is looking to strike a cut-price £13m deal for the Watford midfielder, who has been a regular for the Hornets ever since sealing a move from Derby a few seasons ago.
With Watford now back in the Championship, they are vulnerable to Premier League clubs when it comes to their best players. And Hughes is certainly among those players, with Jose Mourinho targeting the Englishman.
Hughes made his name with Derby and the England under-21s. He racked up an impressive 23 appearances for the Young Lions and has since proven himself as a PL player, with 77 appearances in the top-flight.

This would be an absolute steal if they can pull it off and Spurs would be adding some serious quality and depth to their ranks.
Hughes is too good to be back in the Championship and given he is still only 25, he has plenty more to offer in the Premier League if he’s given the chance.
Spurs need strength in midfield with Eric Dier dropping further back and Tanguy Ndombele struggling. The signing of Hughes could, then, even encourage the club to sell their record buy.
All in all, this represents a fine piece of business by Levy and Mourinho if they can pull it off.
