Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly entered the race to sign young Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba.
According to L’Equipe (via GFFN), the 2019 Champions League finalists have entered into discussion with the 18-year-old, and are ‘confident’ of agreeing terms.
Saliba has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks.

The Emirates remains the French youngster’s preferred destination, but Spurs may well throw a spanner in the works.
Mauricio Pochettino could lose Toby Alderweireld this summer since he has a £25 million release clause, and according to Tuttomercatoweb, AS Roma are interested.
TBR’s view
This is certainly an interesting development.
Arsenal have been the only English team mentioned with regards to Saliba over the past few weeks and he looked highly likely to be heading to the Emirates.
With Spurs in the Champions League again next season and Pochettino at the helm, Saliba may have a tough decision to make.

It is thought that Saliba will cost in the region of £27 million (via The Daily Mail).
Arsenal appear willing to pay that, and it certainly shouldn’t be an issue for Spurs so it could well come down to who offers the best package for the highly rated centre-back.
