According to reports in Spain this weekend, Tottenham have become the latest club to make an approach for Barcelona forward, Ousmane Dembele.
Mundo Deportivo make the claim, suggesting that Spurs have made it known to Dembele that they’d be keen on bringing him to the Premier League this summer. Dembele, 24, is yet to sign a new deal in Barcelona is free to negotiate with other clubs from January if he wishes.
A number of clubs, including Newcastle United, have been linked with a move for Dembele. The Frenchman has endured a nightmare spell with the Catalan club in the main. After signing for huge money, injuries have ravaged his time in the Spanish city.

It has been claimed that Barca are confident Dembele will sign fresh terms. However, he reportedly earns around £15m-a-year, and with Barca’s cash flow problems well known, a new contract is tricky to navigate.
Spurs, meanwhile, are looking to bring in fresh faces for Antonio Conte. The Italian needs new signings, whether it be in January, or the summer. Dembele, who has pace to burn and great potential, could well be right up the Italian’s street.
TBR’s View: Dembele and Son next to Kane is dreamland for Tottenham
Harry Kane thrives when he has runners around him. So if Tottenham could sign someone like Dembele, then it would surely only benefit Kane and Spurs?
As previously claimed by Lionel Messi, Dembele has ‘frightening pace’. Therefore, the thought of he and Heung-Min Son running off of Kane is a good one for Spurs fans.
Of course, a whole host of clubs will want the Frenchman. Yes, his injuries have been problematic. But any club who can keep him fit and unlock Dembele’s full potential is onto a winner. Tottenham fans, then, will be hoping the lure of Conte could prove decisive here.
