Tottenham are reportedly holding talks with Scottish champions Celtic about a loan deal for midfielder Victor Wanyama.
The 28-year-old is currently on the fringes of the Spurs squad and previously spent two successful years earlier in his career with Celtic.
According to the Evening Standard, Spurs are in discussions with Neil Lennon’s team about a possible loan to Parkhead.
It is understood that the Premier League side are expected to pay a “significant chunk” of his £62,000-a-week wages and any deal is likely to include the option to buy too, although it’s unclear on what valuation the teams will meet at.
The Daily Record has previously reported that Celtic are still keen on Wanyama in the January window, but have competition from Bayer Leverkusen, Lazio, Galatasaray and Rennes for his signature.
The Scottish club do have the appeal of competing for a domestic league crown as usual and have stiff competition from rivals Rangers, plus they are in the Europa League knockout rounds too this season.

TBR’s View:
Wanyama needs a move away from Spurs, as he’s played just four games across all competitions this season and clearly isn’t going to get much of a look-in under manager Jose Mourinho.
The Kenya international still has time on his side to get his career back on track, but needs more luck with injuries and clearly regular minutes.
He was a quality central midfielder in the early stages of his time in North London and was an expert at breaking up play.
His exit makes sense from a Spurs view, while Celtic fans would surely love to have the powerhouse back in their squad and he would be a useful option to have.
