Report: Tottenham draw up emergency manager plan, in case the worst happens

Tottenham are reportedly drawing up an emergency plan to bring Ryan Mason in for the start of pre-season if they have still not appointed a new manager.

Spurs may turn to former interim boss Mason this summer, in case the worst should happen and they’ve not named a new manager in time for pre-season.

According to the Daily Express, the Spurs squad will be reunited on 5 July to start preparations for next season. However, international players will be back at a later date.

It is understood that Mason, along with his backroom staff, are now on standby to step in for pre-season preparations.

The report explains that Spurs are repeatedly failing with attempts to name their managerial successor to Jose Mourinho. 

Embarrassing for Tottenham if they have to bring back Ryan Mason

For Spurs fans, they are growing fed up now.

It’s verging on embarassing that the north London club are still desperately searching for a manager.

Mourinho was dismissed over two months ago, but there are still no signs of a new manager coming in.

Mason, 30, stepped in for the final seven games of last season, so using him at the start of pre-season makes sense.

However, they are going to be so far behind everyone if they don’t appoint a full-time manager soon.
