Report: Tottenham desperate to sign £60m striker now, he's already their top target for next year
Fabio Paratici is refusing to give up on signing Dusan Vlahovic for Tottenham Hotspur, Calcio Mercato report.
Not giving in
Tottenham chased Vlahovic over the summer, with claims that they had submitted a big money bid for him emerging.
However, Fiorentina were determined to keep hold of their star man and no move materialised.
Vlahovic’s contract does run out in 2023 though, and Tottenham are still waiting in the wings.
It is thought that the Italian side would like to extend Vlahovic’s deal, but no official announcement has been made yet.
And Tottenham are apparently still trying to make the transfer happen for the £60 million rated man (Times).
Paratici has now made the target-man striker his top choice to land in 2022, as he looks to get the signing of the Serbian wrapped up.
If Tottenham were to sign Vlahovic he could be an excellent addition to their team.
The powerful forward, who was labelled a ‘phenomenon’ by Antonio Di Natale (RTV38), would give Tottenham far more depth up-front, with Harry Kane their only really natural senior striker in their squad.
Vlahovic has already netted five goals in four games this term, after hitting 21 last season – meaning that Spurs would certainly have plenty of fire-power to call upon if he was to arrive.
But Tottenham’s hopes may all depend on whether Vlahovic does sign a new contract, or if he continues to delay putting pen to paper, ahead of the January transfer window.
