Tottenham defender Eric Dier is reportedly an injury doubt for England ahead of their game on Wednesday night.
Gareth Southgate’s side host Denmark at Wembley in midweek for a Nations League fixture and the Spurs man may miss the international clash.
According to the Daily Mail, the 26-year-old is an injury doubt for England due to a “minor hamstring problem”.
The report explains that the centre-back is trying to prove his fitness to Three Lions boss Southgate, but Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Conor Coady is ready to step into his position in the back three.
Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has publicly voiced his concern about his players being overworked on international duty and it looks like his fear was justified.
Dier, who has reverted back into a centre-back from a midfielder, has found a new vein of form since Mourinho took charge at Spurs and he’s now back in the England set-up.
He will hope that the hamstring injury is indeed “minor”, especially as the North London club face West Ham on Sunday in the Premier League.

TBR’s View:
With three England games in just a two-week period over the international break, many club managers will have been fearing the worst for their players.
In Southgate’s defence, Dier was rested for the international friendly with Wales last weekend, before he completed 90 minutes over the weekend in the Nations League victory against the world’s number one ranked side Belgium.
It’s great to see him back playing some consistent football again after a major dip and he’s still adjusting back to the role of centre-back, but it will be a big confidence for him that both club and international managers have faith in him.
