Report: Tottenham could sign Wolves player if 'price is right', Liverpool also keen
The Daily Star claim that Tottenham Hotspur could raid Nuno Espirito Santo’s old side Wolves for Adama Traore – but only if the ‘price is right’. Traore continues to be linked with a move this summer. Tottenham could make their move, while Liverpool are also being linked with Traore.
Traore, 25, has constantly been linked with the Premier League’s biggest clubs – even though he had a tricky 2020-21 campaign with Wolves. Playing in 37 of their 38 Premier League games, Spain international Traore only conjured up five goal involvements. Scoring two, he laid on three assists.
That has not deterred Liverpool – who have been regularly after Traore, window upon window – and now Spurs are keen too. The report claims Wolves previously wanted £60million but could now accept a ‘cut-price’ £30million. Tottenham will move if the ‘price is right’ this summer.
Traore in, Bale out, would be excellent Tottenham business
Gareth Bale ended last season with 16 goals. On the face of it, he was a good signing and even though sparingly used by Jose Mourinho – his goal return was excellent. But delve a little deeper, and while Bale scored goals, his overall impact on the team was hardly a positive one.
Look at the 3-1 defeat to Leeds. His unwillingness to track back and help Serge Aurier on the right flank saw Jack Harrison and Gjanni Alioski have a field day – as Leeds won. Bringing in Traore, who is hard working and willing to do the dirty work, would be brilliant business.
