GiveMeSport have claimed in an exclusive that Tottenham Hotspur could look to get a deal over the line for Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik – by proposing a player-plus-cash deal that includes a senior attacker.
Spurs have been linked with 26-year-old ace Milik for the majority of the summer, with the Poland international potentially set to leave the Serie A club due to his contract situation. It is due to expire next summer.
Milik has been an excellent servant to Napoli, scoring 47 goals in 112 games and even 10 in 17 Serie A outings this season. But it looks as though he is set to leave, with Juventus leading the race for the striker.
However, Tottenham will attempt to convince notorious Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis into sanctioning a move by including Argentine Erik Lamela in a deal. The Daily Star recently claimed Tottenham are open to selling Lamela.
TBR’s view – Tottenham could strike a good deal for Milik
Spurs need a striker, but one that can play up front as well as in a different position in order to give said player the required game time. Milik is an excellent striker, but can also play as a 10 or out wide. He is ideal.
Available, Milik is believed to be rated in the region of £40million by Napoli – even given the current global health crisis and his contract status. Nevertheless, De Laurentiis is ready to play hard ball.
But by including Lamela in a deal and perhaps a figure of around £15million-£20million, a deal could be struck. Losing 28-year-old Lamela to land Milik is a deal Spurs have got to take.
