Report: Tottenham could beat Aston Villa and Crystal Palace to signing, by striking swap deal for £26m star
Tottenham are battling Crystal Palace and Aston Villa for Weston McKennie – and could propose a swap deal including Moussa Sissoko.
A report from TuttoMercatoWeb claims that Fabio Paratici wants to sign USA and Juventus star McKennie, 22, for the second time in 12 months.
Paratici took McKennie from Schalke to Juventus last summer. He has since impressed for the Old Lady, clocking up 46 appearances for Juve in 20-21.
Now, a report from TMW states Paratici is keen – but faces competition from Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and even German champions Bayern Munich.
The report states that Juventus want a fee of £26million for McKennie. But that Spurs could sweeten a deal and win the race, by including a player.
Sissoko in McKennie deal: Could Tottenham tempt Juventus?
The report states that Spurs might look to tempt Juventus into the sale of McKennie by including Sissoko. How much that reduces the fee, is unclear.
Whether even Juventus actually want Sissoko is also, yet to be seen. The France international is struggling for game time at Spurs.
The 32-year-old has two years remaining on his contract but it is clear that Spurs want him gone. He is yet to play a single minute this season for Spurs.
Sissoko has only appeared once on the bench in Tottenham’s three games, the 1-0 win over Man City. So, Sissoko leaving Tottenham is foreseeable.
But would Juve want him? Would it tempt Juve into selling McKennie? Or would Juve prefer straight cash? Plenty of questions unanswered.
