Tottenham are reportedly “unlikely” to sign Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes this summer.
According to Sky Sports, Spurs have cooled their interest in the attacking midfielder and are reluctant to get involved in a bidding war.
It is understood that Portuguese club Sporting value the creative playmaker at more than £65million and there is interest from Manchester United.
The report details that Mauricio Pochettino’s side held talks on Wednesday with the player’s agent, but are pursuing other midfield targets as they prepare to lose Christian Eriksen.
Fernandes was in stunning form last season for Sporting, scoring 32 goals and supplying 18 assists in 53 games across all competitions.
The 24-year-old looks a serious talent that deserves a big move this summer, but a switch to Spurs looks off the cards.

TBR’s View:
Fernandes is a goalscoring midfielder that would add some extra creativity to the North London club and it’s understandable that Sporting are holding out for a mammoth transfer fee.
The Portugal international is beginning to hit the peak of his powers and looks like he could rip up the Premier League.
Spurs do need to focus on improving other areas of the pitch though, as they could be without a genuine back-up option to main centre-forward Harry Kane as it stands.
