Tottenham may reportedly make a move to try sign Southampton attacker Danny Ings this summer.

According to Eurosport, Spurs are monitoring the current situation of the 28-year-old, as he’s stalling on signing a new deal at St Mary’s.

It is understood that there is some concern over the future of the £75,000-a-week Southampton star (Spotrac), which is why Spurs may reignite interest in him.

The report explains that Jose Mourinho’s side were interest in signing the England international last summer before they landed Carlos Vinicius on a season-long loan instead.

Eurosport’s report adds that they could put together a summer bid for Ings depending on how his contract situation pans out.

TBR’s View:

Ings, who’s had injury problems so far this season, has scored seven goals in 14 games across all competitions this campaign.

The English centre-forward is an ex-Liverpool man that saw his time at Anfield wrecked by injuries, but he’s had far greater luck in that respect on the South Coast and has been a real talisman for the Saints.

He scored 25 goals in all competitions last season for Southampton, proving he’s one of the most clinical strikers in the country.

It seems unlikely that Ings would want to join Spurs, as they have England captain Harry Kane as the frontman.

There is no doubt though that he’s got the quality to join a big club if his Southampton future can’t be resolved.
