Tottenham Hotspur coaches reportedly believe Dane Scarlett has a higher ceiling to his potential than any other striker at the club below Harry Kane.
Scarlett became Tottenham’s youngest-ever Premier League player when he came off the bench in stoppage time of Sunday’s 2-0 win over West Brom aged 16 years and 320 days.
Goals from the returning Kane and Son Heung-min ensured that Spurs returned to winning ways after three straight defeats in the Premier League.

With the result in the bag, Jose Mourinho’s final substitution with just seconds left on the clock saw him hand the highly-rated Scarlett his top-flight debut.
The teenager, who has netted 20 goals at academy level this season, has been training with the first-team after such a brilliant start to the 2020-21 campaign.
Mourinho sang Scarlett’s praises after the game, telling BBC Sport (via Evening Standard): “I wanted to be the one to put him on in a Premier League match.
“Because I know that he will be somebody in a few years.”
And according to football.london, many within Spurs and the academy agree with Mourinho, believing his potential to be huge.
TBR View:
It was great to hear Mourinho tip Scarlett for such a big future, and to read about the club’s coaches reportedly also tipping him for greatness will be music to Spurs fans’ ears.
Obviously it’s still early days, and the youngster is likely to play the bulk of his football at academy level still, but perhaps next season a loan to an EFL team could help his development.
Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott has been shining on loan at Blackburn and looks a cut above there at just 17 – could Scarlett do the same next term for a team in the Championship or League One?
