Tottenham are reportedly in pole position to sign Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos this summer.
According to AS, Spurs look like they will win the chase for his signature ahead of AC Milan, but it’s unclear on if it will be a loan or permanent deal.
It is understood that Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has held talks with the player and given him assurances that he will have an important role to play if he moves to North London next season.
Ceballos has just helped Spain win the Under-21s European Championships this summer and was one of the standout players in the tournament.
He is a central midfielder that dictates play with his slick passing and movement, which also helped him play 34 first-team games across all competitions last season for Real Madrid.
The 22-year-old is desperate for more regular first-team action though and it looks like that could come at Spurs.

TBR’s View:
Ceballos proved he is a rising star this summer with Spain’s youth team and has also played six times at senior level for his country.
The deep-lying playmaker is a midfielder that looks destined to go to the top and he is good enough to make an immediate impact in the Spurs XI.
He slots in well to the Madrid side when given the chance and has a similar style to teammate Luka Modric, who was a major favourite during his previous spell in Spurs.
Ceballos is brilliant at creating chances for others around him and would be another impressive marquee addition this summer.
