Tottenham Hotspur appear to have won their battle to sign Swansea City defender, Joe Rodon, according to Sky Sports (Live feed, 16:54).

Spurs have been tracking Rodon ever since the Premier League deadline ground to a halt ten days ago and appear to have taken things down to the wire to agree a deal for the Welshman.

Sky claims that both clubs have now come to terms on an agreement for Rodon and that it is now just a case of getting the papework sorted.

22-year-old Rodon has become a regular for Wales in recent times and will complete a busy summer of spending for Spurs, who have splashed on the likes of Matt Doherty, Gareth Bale, and Sergio Reguilon.

Swansea were said to holding out for close to £20m for Rodon, with Spurs initially said to have offered just £7m. However, it appears a deal has now been agreed to send the defender to north London.

The report claims personal terms are no issue and both clubs expect a deal to be confirmed.

Finally, but a good signing again – TBR View

What a window this has been for Spurs. Big signings, players in positions they needed and now they have a squads capable of genuinely challenging for the top four and beyond.

Daniel Levy deserves enormous credit and now Jose Mourinho simply must deliver the goods for the club. Anything less than a top four push now will be seen as a massive failure.

Rodon, on the other hand, should help Tottenham achieve that. He is a fine young player to add to a squad already full of talent.
