Report: Tottenham big fans of Champions League star who outshone Neymar; labelled the next De Bruyne
Charles De Ketelaere is very popular with Tottenham and they may look to make a move for the Belgium international in January, according to a report from Calciomercato.
De Ketelaere looks to be one of the most exciting prospects coming through in his country right now.
He has recently been compared with Kevin De Bruyne. And a Belgian journalist has even tipped the Club Brugge starlet to take De Bruyne’s place in Roberto Martinez’s side in the future.
The 20-year-old can play in a variety of roles, with his best position perhaps being the number 10 spot. However, he has predominantly played as a striker this season.
The youngster has scored five times in the top flight. Meanwhile, he has shone against the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
And it seems that Tottenham hope to bring him to the Premier League. Calciomercato reports that they are big fans of the player, who is also wanted by AC Milan.
Tottenham fans should be delighted with links with De Ketelaere
Spurs fans would be forgiven for being incredibly excited about the links with De Ketelaere.
Of course, he is not playing in one of Europe’s top leagues. But he is making an impact in the Champions League.
He can play almost anywhere in the attacking areas. He can create chances, he can finish them off. And he offers an aerial threat, standing at 6 ft 3 ins.
It is hard to imagine that he will be with Club Brugge much longer. And Tottenham must make sure that they are the ones to secure his signature.
