TransferMarkt have claimed in an exclusive that Tottenham Hotspur are rivalling Atletico Madrid in the race to sign Schalke wonderkid Can Bozdogan – and they could sign the young German for less than £1million.
Bozdogan, 19, has emerged as another example of Schalke’s excellent youth academy – breaking into David Wagner’s side towards the end of the Bundesliga campaign. He featured in three league games, even being sent off in one.
A one-time Germany Under-18 international and captain of the club’s Under-19 side, Bozdogan’s burgeoning reputation has alerted both Tottenham and Atletico Madrid ahead of the summer window.
Though the report claims it is expected Bozdogan will remain at Schalke with his contract expiring in the summer of 2022, it is believed that his asking price is worth a bargain £900,000 fee.

TBR’s view – Bozdogan a bargain at asking price
If Schalke are really willing to sell Bozdogan – who is left-footed and can play as a winger or in the 10 role – for less than £1million, then it is an absolute no-brainer for Tottenham.
A low-risk signing but with the potential of huge reward, Bozdogan boasts the kind of potential expected of a player that is valued a lot higher than his price tag. Schalke would be making a mistake, but Spurs must test their resolve.
