Spanish website Diario De Sevilla have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have asked Barcelona about right-back Emerson, who is currently halfway through a two-year loan spell at Spanish side Real Betis.
Emerson, 21, joined Barcelona from Atletico Mineiro last summer before immediately joining Betis on a two-year loan deal. He has since clocked up 41 appearances for Betis, and even earned his first Brazil cap.
He has starred for Manuel Pellegrini’s new side on the right side of the defence. Missing just five of Betis’ 38 league games, he had a hand in nine goals – scoring three and creating six – and even playing as a winger on occasion.
Diario De Sevilla claim Tottenham are interested and have asked Barcelona about Emerson, while PSG and AC Milan – the latter of whom are looking at Serge Aurier – have also enquired. Mundo Deportivo claim Barca want £27million.

TBR’s view – Emerson would be excellent addition
Tottenham have become renowned for allowing Aurier to get forward on the right but keeping Ben Davies somewhat defensive on the left. If they are to continue that style, then they need an attacking right-back.
Emerson is ideal. Having a hand in nine goals from the right side of the defence is impressive – similar to Aurier, who had 10 goal involvements last season. Expensive at £27million, but the right kind of player.
