Report: Tottenham are ‘ready to approach’ Paratici target with club-record £76m offer
Tottenham could launch an astronomical €90m (£76m) offer for Lautaro Martinez in the final weeks of the transfer window.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the north London side are ‘ready to approach’ Inter Milan with a club-record bid for the Argentina international.
Spurs have been linked with Martinez over the past few weeks, but a transfer has looked unlikely.
Inter have made two huge sales this window in the form of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku. And the sale of the Belgian attacker to Chelsea has seemingly put the brakes on Martinez leaving in this summer.
Indeed, the Serie A champions are eager to tie Martinez down to a new contract with the club.
However, Spurs’ rampant interest in the forward could put a stop to these plans. Especially if Tottenham make a proposed £76m bid for the striker.
Fabio Paratici is reportedly eager to bring the attacker to north London. But, a move could be determined by the future of Harry Kane. According to the Telegraph, is keen to depart Tottenham this window.
Although Daniel Levy is standing firm on his star striker, pressure from both Kane and Manchester City could force the Spurs chairman into selling the England captain.
And should this happen, it could give Tottenham and Paratici both the funds and motivation to complete a deal for Martinez with the transfer window set to close in two weeks.
