According to ABC, Tottenham are in a fantastic position to sign Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann.
What’s the story?
Well, Barcelona paid £107.6m for the Frenchman as recently as July 2019.
However, after spending way beyond their means, the Spanish giants need to sell some players, with practically everyone bar a few up for grabs.
ABC state that it is ‘unacceptable’ for Griezmann to continue playing for Barcelona in their current situation.
The 30-year-old is also of interest to his former side Atlético Madrid.
However, it’s Tottenham who are in a very good position to sign the 94-cap France international and World Cup winner, according to ABC.
How are Tottenham in a great position?

Interestingly, the Spanish news outlet mention a few reasons as to why Nuno Espírito Santo’s side are best placed to land Griezmann.
Firstly, they write that Harry Kane is very close to joining Manchester City, so Fabio Paratici will have the money to afford Barcelona’s No.7.
Additionally, Kane’s exit frees up a space to become Tottenham’s main man up front, which would surely be of interest to Griezmann.

Despite this, it will still take a major persuasion job from Paratici.
The Italian will have to convince one of Europe’s best forwards to swap Champions League football for the UEFA Conference League, which won’t be easy.
Having said that, Spurs still have a lot going for them, and anything could happen with the huge amount expected from Kane’s departure.
