Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham remain interested in signing Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic, according to a report from German outlet Kicker.

Kalajdzic enjoyed an outstanding campaign in the Bundesliga last year, scoring 16 times. However, this season has been much more challenging for the Austria international.

He has spent the large majority of the year on the sidelines with a shoulder injury. Nevertheless, it would appear that he is attracting a lot of interest ahead of the summer.

Kicker reports that the likes of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig want to offer him a fresh challenge in the Bundesliga.

But there is also interest from Spurs and West Ham – and Jose Mourinho’s Roma.

What will certainly not help Stuttgart as they look to keep Kalajdzic is their precarious position in the top-flight. They currently sit second-bottom and are four points off safety.

Kalajdzic’s return looks to be a big boost. He has made five of his six league appearances this season since the turn of the year.

But his contract is up in 2023, so keeping him will not be easy no matter what division they find themselves in next season. Stuttgart would currently want around £16.8 million if Kalajdzic was to be sold, but his asking price could drop further.

Kalajdzic could be an exciting signing for Tottenham and West Ham as contract runs down

Obviously, it has not been the best year for Stuttgart. And Kalajdzic only scoring one goal is not ideal. However, the list of clubs chasing his signature tells its own story.

He looks to have serious potential. And he is not going to cost a huge amount due to his contract situation. Stuttgart getting relegated would also see that asking price drop further.

Kevin Kuranyi previously suggested that he could develop into ‘a top player‘. So it could prove to be a really smart piece of business for Tottenham or West Ham if they could win the race.
