Turkish Football have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur and Sheffield United are rivalling a handful of German Bundesliga clubs to sign Fenerbahce’s impressive young goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.
Bayindir, 21, joined Fenerbahce in the summer from MKE Ankaragucu and has since broken into the senior side. He has clocked up 22 appearances in all competitions for the SuperLig giants, keeping five clean sheets – conceding just 25 times.
His form has even seen him earn a call-up to the Turkey national side, but he is yet to win his first cap. He has a contract until the summer of 2023, but it is believed that both Spurs and the Blades have made enquiries for 6ft 5in Bayindir.
The report claims he is rated at £12.5million, with both clubs likely to be after a goalkeeper. Dean Henderson remains only on loan from Manchester United, while Spurs have been linked with plenty of goalkeepers to replace Hugo Lloris.

TBR’s view – Is Bayindir good enough for the Premier League?
It is certainly very early in his career and perhaps too hard to tell, but if we are going off his 22 senior appearances for Fener – then he has plenty of qquality and would be a cheap purchase at just £12.5million.
Plenty of potential, plenty of resale value and plenty of quality, if Bayindir has to choose between Spurs and Sheffield United, he must decide whether he could be second choice in north London – or first choice for the Blades.
