A Bola claim Newcastle have joined Tottenham and Liverpool in the race to sign FC Porto star Luis Diaz – with Spurs scouts impressed on Tuesday.
Diaz, 24, scored the only goal of the game on Tuesday in a Champions League tie between Porto and Milan. It was his seventh goal of the season.
The 29-time Colombia international, who can play out wide or up front – was initially targeted by Liverpool, according to an Independent report.
However, Liverpool might not be the only club looking at signing the South American – who netted four goals in the Copa America last summer.
Indeed, A Bola report that Newcastle could chance their arm, while Tottenham are also keen. Spurs scouts watched him on Tuesday.
A report from a separate site, SAPO Desporto, claim Porto wanted as much as £68million for Diaz in the summer. A compromise might be required.

Newcastle, Tottenham or Liverpool – which best for Porto star Diaz?
A move to Newcastle would see Diaz’s wage demands met, and he would instantly be up there with the best players in the team.
But it means he has to wave goodbye to European football for at least a couple of seasons. Indeed, a relegation scrap will come first.
Tottenham would be a good move, but Diaz is sparkling from the left flank and while he is versatile – he does not overtake Son Heung-min.
At Liverpool, it might just be his best option. Champions League football and the potential to eventually overtake Sadio Mane or Mo Salah.
