Tottenham and Newcastle United are among the clubs chasing the signing of Zenit midfielder, Wilmar Barrios, per reports from Colombia.
Primer Tiempo claims that Spurs, along with Newcastle and AC Milan, are keen on landing the Barrios, 27, who is said to be open to a move away from the Russian league.

The midfielder is known for his battling qualities and is a regular on the international scene, having accrued 33 caps for Colombia so far.
He signed for Zenit from South American giants, Boca Juniors, in 2019 and has since gone from strength to strength. His current deal runs until 2023, however, both Spurs and Milan are said to have asked about his situation with Zenit.

Sempre Milan also claim Barrios is open to a move to another league. That could well mean a January move potentially being on the cards, should Zenit receive a suitable bid.
More woe for Spurs’ fringe players? – TBR View
The fact Spurs are being linked with yet more midfield players doesn’t bode well for the likes of Winks or Alli.
However, Jose Mourinho seems to know what he wants at the moment and Barrios is another player in the mold of the midfield destroyer who could well improve the Spurs squad depth.
Barrios has done very well since arriving in Europe and is no stranger to big games or situations having been at Boca. He could, then, prove a shrewd addition to the Spurs cause.
