Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are battling for £20 million-rated striker Fedor Chalov.

According to The Mirror, the 2019 Champions League finalists have joined Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City in the hunt for the Russian marksman, whose reputation is on the rise.

The CSKA Moscow man is being tipped as a potential huge star.

Since making his debut in 2016, Chalov has 36 goals in 97 matches for CSKA – an impressive return.

In May he made his bow with Russia, having narrowly missed out on the final World Cup squad last year.

Spurs and the Reds may have their work cut out over the coveted youngster, who is also interesting AS Monaco, Sevilla, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.

TBR’s view

21-year-old Chalov could be a great coup for either Tottenham or Liverpool at just £20 million.

One would imagine though that CSKA will hold out for much more given the number of teams reportedly interested.

Spurs have allowed Fernando Llorente to depart as a free agent meaning they definitely need cover for Harry Kane as it stands.

Liverpool have Divock Origi, but arguably they don’t have anyone in reserve who plays solely as a striker. Rhian Brewster is expected to get a chance this year, but he is obviously untested.

He would likely do well at either club, with Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp both exceptional coaches of young talents.
