Tottenham are one of several clubs keeping tabs on young Croatian starlet Edin Julardzija, according to Sassuolo News. Chelsea, Arsenal, Inter and Roma are also thought to be keen.
The teenager is currently playing for Dinamo Zagreb where he has been a regular in the club’s UEFA Youth League campaign. He has also featured for the Croatian under-18s on a handful of occasions.
Julardzija caught the eye of Chelsea last season in the UEFA Youth League, whilst Tottenham and Arsenal are likely to have sent scouts to watch him during 2019/20.
The attacking midfielder typically operates as a No.10 and is considered to be technically gifted, quick and boasts an array of skills.
Tottenham’s interest is certainly intriguing. Spurs plucked a certain Luka Modric from Dinamo Zagreb back in 2008 and he would go onto become one of the best players in the world.
The creative spark left for Real Madrid in 2014 and four years later after winning four Champions League crowns and reaching a World Cup Final, he laid his hands on the Ballon d’Or accolade.
There is no saying, of course, that Julardzija will go the same way. Given that they both play in the same position, however, it seems a natural comparison for some experts to make.
Both London clubs are likely to be in the mix for new players this summer. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has already been linked with a desire to sign ball-playing midfielders (Express).
For Tottenham, their need for attacking talents is perhaps evident too. They currently find themselves in a situation where both Harry Kane and Heung Son-min are out injured.
The 19-year-old looks set to have options during the summer and the competition for his signature could be fierce. Both Tottenham and Arsenal have a pretty good track record with youngsters and it’ll be interesting to see where he ends up.
