Report: Tottenham and Arsenal scouting La Liga star
A report from TeamTalk claims that Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri has been watched by Arsenal, Tottenham and Brighton scouts this season.
En-Nesyri, 24, has been sensational for Julian Lopetegui’s side over the past couple of seasons. Joining initially in 2019-20, he starred last term.
The Morocco international netted a whopping 24 goals in all competitions – including a brace against Dortmund in the last 16 of the Champions League.
This season, his form has continued – but perhaps, he has become more creative. In seven games, he has three goals and two assists for Sevilla.
Now, he is being looked at by both Tottenham and Arsenal – as well as Brighton – with Sevilla considering Blackburn’s Ben Brereton Diaz.
Tottenham or Arsenal: Which is best for En-Nesyri?
What En-Nesyri offers is different to anything Arsenal or Tottenham have. A proper old-fashioned, physical centre-forward – a traditional no.9.
So, which North London side needs him most? Tottenham are still likely to lose England skipper Harry Kane next summer – and he could replace him.
But he would hardly join to be back-up. Spurs would only have a chance if Kane departed. For Arsenal, two are about to leave on a free transfer.
Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of favour, and out of contract next summer. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is first choice.
But En-Nesyri is eight years his junior. If En-Nesyri had to pick Arsenal or Tottenham right now, it would be Arsenal – because Kane is still at Spurs.
