North London pair Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are set to go head-to-head in a transfer battle.
According to Foot Mercato, both Arsenal and Tottenham have made contact over Marseille’s Isaac Lihadji. The young winger is wanted by a host of clubs across Europe.
Marseille rate the 17-year-old very highly and have already given him his first-team debut. Lihadji has sat on the bench six times, coming on twice. He made his debut in September, playing 12 minutes against Dijon.
Since then, he has enjoyed an 11-minute cameo against Amiens and will be looking to add to his first-team outings. Marseille clearly rate him highly but face a battle to keep him.
Arsenal and Tottenham are the two teams from the Premier League who have been checking on the French starlet, who starred at the U17 World Cup last month.
La Liga pair Barcelona and Valencia will also compete with Italian giants Juventus for Lihadji. Meanwhile, German trio Red Bull Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich want the teen.
Lihadji is the next exciting talent emerging from the French leagues. The young winger showed the world what he could do at the U17 World Cup and he is already playing some first-team games for Marseille.
But if Arsenal or Spurs are serious about him, they will need to act quickly to beat the other Euro heavyweights. Lihadji has the potential to break into the first-team in the near future and become a star player.
