Football London have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are among the clubs keeping tabs on Nathan Ferguson’s situation at West Bromwich Albion – as his contract looks set to expire this summer.
Ferguson, 19, is out of contract at the end of the month and plenty of clubs are looking to sign the highly-rated right-back, after shining for Slaven Bilic’s side during his 21 league and cup appearances this season.
The England Under-20 international almost joined Crystal Palace for £11million in January only for a move to collapse, after a knee injury. Palace remain the front runners to nab Ferguson’s signature.
But both north London clubs are waiting in the wings in case Palace’s move to sign Ferguson fails for a second time. English clubs will have to agree a compensation fee, given that Ferguson is under the age of 23.
Foreign sides, though, can land Ferguson for a nominal fee – something that Scottish teams have taken advantage of in recent seasons. No less than 10 Bundesliga sides are said to have expressed an interest.

TBR’s view – Which club needs Ferguson the most?
There is no doubt Tottenham need a right-back. Kyle Walker-Peters is simply not good enough for Spurs, while Serge Aurier is decent – but is a liability at times. The Ivorian needs competition, and Ferguson could provide that.
Cedric Soares is out of contract this month and is yet to sign any kind of extension with Arsenal, after failing to make his debut since joining in January. If he signs, the Gunners will be well stocked at right-back.
Along with Cedric, the Gunners boast Hector Bellerin, Ainsley-Maitland Niles, Calum Chambers and Sokratis – who can all do a job at right-back. Tottenham need Ferguson much more than Arsenal.
