Italian newspaper Tuttosport have claimed the race is hotting up for AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Not only are Juventus battling Mauricio Pochettino’s PSG and Jose Mourinho’s Roma for Donnarumma, but English clubs Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are also keen.
Donnarumma is still only 22. But the 26-time Italy international has already played more than 250 appearances – clocking up 88 clean sheets in 251 outings. However, the two parties have been unable to come to terms on a new deal. Now, he is a free agent beyond the end of June 30.
Six clubs, then, are in the chase for Donnarumma. Juve and returning boss Max Allegri wants to replace ex-Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, while PSG need to bring in competition for Keylor Navas. Mourinho is keen, as are London trio Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham ahead of the summer.

So, which club needs Donnarumma most – is it Tottenham, Arsenal or Chelsea?
Juventus really need a goalkeeper. Szczesny is good, but not a title-winning shot-stopper. Donnarumma seems perfect but does he want to join a club that finished fourth last season, two places behind Milan? Navas gets criticised but he is still a top, top goalkeeper. He has a contract until 2024.
Donnarumma has probably outshone a move to seventh-placed Roma. So, a move to England really is on the cards. Chelsea do not need him, with Edouard Mendy and Kepa as options. Arsenal are not in Europe, so surely Tottenham could bring him in – and replace Hugo Lloris?
